A Spectacular Day of Cosplay, Creativity, and Anime Fun!

On a beautifully cloudy Saturday, the vibrant city of Shillong witnessed yet another thrilling cosplay event, the Kynjai Cosfest 3.0, hosted by Kynjai Cloud Kitchen, a local restaurant known for its mouth-watering Korean, Japanese, and Chinese delicacies. This year, Kynjai took the cosfest to a grander venue, Anton Hall, located in the heart of Laitumkhrah, Shillong. With an event running from 11 AM to 7 PM, the day was jam-packed with excitement, creativity, and anime magic!
Though the weather was cloudy, it created the perfect cool and pleasant atmosphere for the day-long event without any interruptions by rain—ideal for cosplayers, fans, and anime lovers alike!
The Cosplay Competition Begins
As the clock hit 1 PM, the highly anticipated cosplay competition kicked off. With over 20 participants comprising both adults and kids, it was a visual treat for everyone in attendance. From dazzling performances to jaw-dropping costumes, each participant brought their favorite anime and cartoon characters to life in full swing.
Judging the competition were two renowned personalities from the cosplay world: Donald Zacky from Shillong and Subah, who made sure that every participant’s hard work was evaluated with fairness and enthusiasm.
Winners Announced
With a whopping prize pool of Rs 75,000, the stakes were high, and the competition was fierce. After much deliberation, the winners were announced, each taking home prizes and, of course, major bragging rights!

Creative Souls Shillong: Anime Merch Stall
The fun didn’t end with the cosplay competition! Creative Souls Shillong, our local Anime Merch Brand, was also part of the event with a dedicated stall offering an array of anime, cartoon, and TV show merchandise. From keychains, posters, stickers, action figures, and plushies, to katanas, T-shirts, and even cloaks, anime fans had the chance to stock up on their favourite character gear. It was a hub of excitement for collectors and anime enthusiasts alike.
Kynjai Cosfest Through the Years
This year’s event marked the third edition of Kynjai Cosfest. While the previous two years (2022 and 2023) were hosted at the Kynjai Cloud Kitchen venue itself, this year saw a significant upgrade with Anton Hall as the stage, allowing for a larger and more elaborate gathering.

From the delicious food stalls by Kynjai Cloud Kitchen to the vibrant cosplay performances and the buzzing anime merch stalls, Kynjai Cosfest 3.0 was a memorable celebration of anime culture, creativity, and community spirit in Shillong. Whether you were a cosplayer, an anime lover, or just someone looking for a fun day out, this event had something for everyone.
