Shillong’s Zacky D to Represent India at Singapore’s Cosplay Fight Club 2026
The Northeast Indian cosplay scene is stepping onto the global stage once again. Shillong-based cosplayer Donald Khumlo, known professionally as Zacky D, is officially set to represent India at the international Cosplay Fight Club: All-Star Team Battle in Singapore from December 11-13, 2026.
This upcoming appearance highlights Meghalaya’s rapidly growing footprint in global fan culture. The local community has been steadily leveling up their craft at regional events like the Cherry Blossom 2024 Cosplay Competition and Kynjai Fest 2025, setting the foundation for artists to compete internationally.
A Decade of Craftsmanship and Global Stages
Zacky D brings nearly a decade of intensive experience in costume-making, character portrayal, and stage performance to the Singapore arena. This is not his first time representing India globally. His impressive track record includes appearances at the World Cosplay Summit 2023 in Japan, the Gamers8 Cosplay Cup 2023 in Saudi Arabia, and Pop Culture Hiroshima in 2020 and 2022.
While domestic events like Mumbai’s C.O.R.E Festival 2026 and Ota Tokyo 2026 Bangalore keep the national circuit highly competitive, Cosplay Fight Club pushes the envelope further. The Singapore competition goes beyond basic costume accuracy. Participants will battle through multiple rigorous rounds, including a Spotlight Performance, a Character Challenge, and an intense 5v5 team battle. Judges will heavily assess storytelling, choreography, and overall stage presence alongside costume construction.
A Heavyweight Judging Panel
The stakes are high, and the judging panel reflects the caliber of the event. Zacky D and his peers will be evaluated by industry veterans, including:
- Richard Cetrone: A renowned Hollywood actor and stunt performer known for his work in blockbuster hits like Wonder Woman, Justice League, and Captain America: Civil War.
- Nobuyuki Takahashi: The Japanese writer and industry legend who is widely credited with coining the actual term “cosplay” in the 1980s.
Putting the Northeast on the Map
Zacky D’s continued success places a massive spotlight on the creative avenues flourishing in Northeast India. From university-level showcases like Varsity Fest 2026 to massive community gatherings like the highly anticipated Multiverse Saga 3.0, Shillong is cultivating serious talent that can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best in the world.
We are wishing Zacky D the absolute best as he prepares to bring his A-game to Singapore this December.
