Closet Cosplay Is Welcome

One of the fun parts of the Anime Meet is that you don’t need an elaborate costume to join in.

Closet cosplay is encouraged, so take inspiration from your favourite anime character and put together a look using whatever you already have. It could be a full character-inspired outfit, a simple version of a character you love, or something only another anime fan would recognise.

Come as the protagonist, the villain, the side character — or that incredibly obscure character that only three people in the room will recognise.

The Anime Meet also carries the theme “Multiverse Saga” — a fitting name for a gathering where fans of different anime, characters and fandoms can all come together.

What Is Multiverse Saga?

If you’ve come across the name Multiverse in Shillong’s cosplay scene, it’s worth knowing that it isn’t the name of the Anime Meet itself.

Multiverse is the annual cosplay competition organised by Shillong Cosplay Community. The same community is behind the Anime Meet, bringing together the local anime and cosplay crowd through different events and activities.
