If you thought Shillong was the only hotspot for pop culture in Meghalaya, think again. The massive Me Gong Festival 2025 is bringing the heat to Tura this December, and for the first time ever, they are hosting a major Cosplay Contest in collaboration with the Tura Cosplay Community (TUCOCO)!

Whether you’re a veteran crafter or a first-time performer, this is your chance to shine on one of the biggest stages in the Northeast.

How to Enter the Arena (Rules & Regs)

The competition is open to Solo, Duo, and Group entries, so grab your partner-in-crime or your entire guild! You can cosplay characters from any genre—Video Games, Anime, Manga, Movies, or Comics.

Important Rules to Remember:

Be Original: Costumes that have won in previous contests are disqualified. Bring something fresh!
Craftsmanship Matters: Your costume must be at least 20% handmade. Store-bought is fine, but adding your own touch is mandatory.
Safety First: No sharp metal weapons, pyrotechnics, or liquids that could damage the stage.
Performance is Key: You have a max of 2.5 minutes on stage. Make it count!

The Winning Formula: It’s Showtime!

Here is the secret sauce to winning this contest. Unlike many events that focus heavily on sewing, Me Gong is looking for ENTERTAINERS!

Judging Breakdown (100 Points Total):

💃 PERFORMANCE (70 Points): Yes, you read that right! The biggest chunk of points goes to your stage presence, acting, and that elusive “X Factor.”
🧵 COSTUME (30 Points): Accuracy, precision, and construction proficiency still matter, but your performance will decide the winner.
